Precautions for installation of Standard Locknut
The lock nut is a kind of nut used on thin plates or sheet metal. It has a circular shape and has embossed teeth and guide grooves at one end. The principle is to press embossed teeth into the preset holes of the sheet metal. Generally, the aperture of the square preset holes is slightly smaller than the embossed teeth of the lock nut, and the teeth of the lock nut are forced into the plate by pressure. The periphery of the hole is plastically deformed, and the deformed object is squeezed into the guide groove, thereby producing a locking effect.
Check the loose torque of the lock nut. The loose torque also directly reflects the locking performance of the nut. It can be seen that under normal circumstances, as long as it is a qualified brake from the accessory workshop, and the lock nut is replaced when the route is changed, the locking performance of the lock nut should be guaranteed. But if we find that the torque of the nut is small or loose when installing the other lock nuts of the brake torch, we need to check whether the thread is slippery or have other damage, and test whether the loose torque meets the requirements or replace the new nut as needed.
The bolt installation needs to adjust the tightening length by installing the washer according to the thickness of the superimposed layer of the hole to ensure the correct installation of the bolt. After the bolts, washers and lock nuts are installed, the threads must be completely occluded, and the threaded ends of the bolts must be chamfered. The chamfering is required to expose the nut. If the threaded ends are not chamfered, the bolt threads are required to expose the nut for at least 1-1 /2 turns of thread.
When finding the hole of the lock nut, first use the torque limit to reach the torque value and then find the hole in the tightening direction. In order to ensure that the connected parts are joined, tightly pressed and evenly compressed: do not connect one by one in the case of a circle or multiple rows of screws Tighten the adjacent screw. When the mounting screw forms a closed pattern, such as a circle, tighten it diagonally.
The unique structure of the lock nut effectively overcomes the above weaknesses. When the fastener is tightened, it can withstand strong vibration at high temperatures. The use of nuts on the turbocharger, exhaust pipe, oil pipe and other parts of the diesel engine effectively solves the problem of loosening of fasteners under high temperature conditions.
