Both of ventilation plug and breathable cable gland have the ability to respond to the threat of complex
and outdoor environment that are constantly changing, sudden and frequent pressure goes up and down.
In application, using ventilation plug and breathable cable gland to enable quick pressure equalization for
outdoor lighting and ensure a dry casing for long service life of lamps.

but can't clamp the cable at the same time.
Only using breathable cable gland is OK for general outdoor use. But the ventilation plug is recommended for more bad conditions.
For example, It is recommended to use a breathable cable gland as well as a ventilation plug
for High - power floodlights, due to there not just the cable connection that will bear the heat generated
by the high power, but so will the entire shell.
