Hazardous Area Classification

Zone 0 Zone 20 Constant danger/Very high. Category 1 equipment.
Explosive hazard always present.
Zone 1 Zone 21 Potential danger/high. Minimum of Category 2 equipment.
Explosive hazard occasionally present during normal working practices.
Zone 2 Zone 22 Minor danger/normal. Minimum of Category 3 equipment
Explosive hazard not likely or only for short periods
